A preparation class is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. An information sheet must be completed and reservation for class is made through the parish secretary.

Sacramental classes for school age children begin in September. Registration for class is in May. If you missed registration, please contact the Religious Education Office, 482-6883, for an appointment. Parents participate in the preparation of their children for all sacraments. School-age children are considered part of RCIA. This class will meet Sunday mornings with the children and parents from 10:30AM- Noon.

The Rite for Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is an on-going process of preparation for adults to prepare for full membership and participation in the Catholic Community. Inquiry sessions are held throughout the year. Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, the Sacraments of Initiation, are celebrated each year at the Easter Vigil. Each person's faith journey develops in a unique way. All are welcome to inquire about participating in this experience.

Preparation of First Eucharist begins in the family as you attend Mass and Live Christ in your daily life. Formal preparation begins in classes during 1st and 2nd grade. Parents are the primary teachers of their children by their example. Catechists assist parents during the classes, retreat and parent meetings. An enrollment ritual is held to present all the children to the community for blessing and prayer. A Eucharist Retreat experience, that includes the whole family, is the final preparation for the Sacrament.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in 9th grade at a time when the candidate is sufficiently mature to be able to confirm their Baptismal call.

Completion of 12 hours of Community Service
Rite of Enrollment with Sponsors, Parents & Candidates on: January
Interview with Pastor or Parish Priest, April

The Second Vatican Council prescribed the revision of the Rite of Baptism of Adults and decreed that the catechumenate for adults, divided into several steps, should be restored. The catechumentate is a time of instruction sanctified by liturgical rites to be celebrated at successive intervals of time. The Congregation of Divine Worship prepared a new Rite for the Christian Initiation of Adults approved by Pope Paul VI.
RCIA classes are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00PM - 8:30PM.

Preparation for First Reconciliation is done at seven years or older. Classes include Parent Meetings, Prayer Times, and Class Times. Children who are older than 2nd Grade are prepared through the RCIA for children.

Parishioners who are seriously ill may call for a priest. It is important to receive this Sacrament while a person is still conscious so he/she will be able to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please do not wait too long before you call for a priest. When you enter a hospital, please be sure to inform the registration person that you are a Catholic, give name of your parish, and tell them you want to be visited by a priest. Sick calls are made daily to area nursing homes and hospitals.

Please call to schedule an appointment to set a date for marriage at least one year in advance. Marriage preparation is an important key to a lasting healthy relationship. Couples will meet with a priest for counseling and a pre-marriage inventory. Marriage preparation requires attendance at a Pre-Cana Conference or an Engaged Encounter Weekend.

It is through this Sacrament that men make their commitment to the priesthood. The call to the priesthood is a call from the church to service. Candidate for the diaconate and the priesthood are recommended by the pastor. Question regarding a vocation are referred to the pastor.
